French Troops, no greatcoat
« on: July 23, 2010, 12:31:25 AM »
I am looking for some French troops in 28mm without the overcoat.
I know Brigade Games has a couple of packs but does anyone else?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

I use Renegade Chasseurs

I used my dremel to turn the puttees into gaiters.

For what year? Do you mean early war kepi wearers or mid to late war Adrian helmet types?

The Old Glory command packs have some pistol armed officers in tunics rather than greatcoats.

We have some officers without coat, plus a number of packs with support troops also without great coats.

We also plan (but haven't started yet) assault infantry, so these will definitely not have great coats.

We also do a range of Italians in ardrian helmets.
Kind regards

Would these work:

Brigade games harlem hellfighters. Americans but with French rifles, helmets and I think they have French ammo pouches too. They are meant to represent Black troops but I don't think the faces would look bad painted white. The faces on these aren't as definitively African looking as, say, copplestone's. The tunic has a standing collar and the breast pocket flaps are different shapes but I don't think anyone will be anally retentive enough to point it out. Painted blue I think they'll look the business.
