Charlie Doig is the anti hero of two(so far) novels by James Fleming - nephew of Ian and Peter.  White Blood is set on the eve of the RCW and Cold Blood is a revenge tale involving Tsarist Gold an armored train chase across Siberia -all the ingredients of BOB - a Mongol sidekick, private armies and American secret agents.

Not for those easily offended a bit like Chekov directed by Sam Peckinpah.
