M-29 Weasel... little tracked Cargo carrier
« on: July 25, 2010, 01:45:23 AM »
Just finished this off, and it's going to casting this week.  The M29 Weasel.

I made this to fill out my Bastogne Troops and carry cargo and wounded back and forth in a game.  This is also our first model to incorporate a complete set of metal tracks that have been designed and printed with a 3D rapid prototype printer.  The whole model is about as big as one of our jeeps.

These soldiered on throughout the cold war in various guises...so plenty of possible uses!

So I guess they could be use in a Atomic Café scenario then ;)

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

I just saw one of these at a waterfront military display in Buffalo, NY.  However, the one I saw had the amphibious attachments at the front and back, as in the pic below.  Pretty nifty, and probably an easy addition for you to add in the future.

yep... the Pacific version will get the amphibious attachments so you can build out the M29C.  Thought we'd get this version out first though.

There is also a variant that carried a 75mm Recoiless rifle

Indeed! Great for swampy or desert worlds.

It's a beautiful thing  :D
