T&T Basing
« on: August 07, 2010, 02:25:21 AM »
I recently picked up the T&T rules while at Historicon. All of my Sudan figures are square based 20mm X 20mm or 25mm x 50mm. Are they okay for this ruleset? I couldn't find any mention of basing size in the rules or the colonial supplement.

Hi,

I think it should work out fine. We don't specify a specific base size, although most ouf our armies are based on round 25mm infantry and 25x50mm rectangular (or 40mm circular) cavalry bases.

I would suggest, however, that all of your figures in a game of T&T should use the same basing convention; melee, for example, is much easier to handle that way. Apart from that, you may choose to measure distances from head to head instead of from base to base or head to base. Infantry squares could be formed more easily than with round bases, I guess.

Generally speaking, though, I don't see any real problems; make an arrangement with your players that suits your group. Feel free to ask, though, if you have any other questions.

Thanks for buying the rules.
No problem with square based models.
For the colonial supplement I started multi basing. But only for natives. Two on a base as a start.
Enjoy the game !
Best regards

I've used 3 figure multibases with T&T together with single based figures and had no difficulties at all, base sizes are not very important with the game if you use some common sense with close combat situations.
