Do you know this officer? Please help me id a photo.

I took some close up pictures to get some detail and came quickly to the conclusion that much of the picture has been painted.


I think the hat is probably a French kepi. What originally looked like the plume socket would appear to be the braid on top of the hat and the plume is painted on.


The sword looks real and I would guess it likely to be a Shaska or maybe a yatagan.


The awards are pretty obviously painted on.

I'll be sending the picture off to be restored in a month or two and will see if there is anything written on the back of the picture.

This guy could even be a national leader who designed his own uniform.  I find it strange that the 8 sided star is repeated on both the collar and the sash.
