I also like the look of this game. I recall a demo was released for the rules*? A lot of people complained about the cost of the rulebook when no one knew what it was like.

Hey majorsmith, I've just noticed your location, is it Lincoln UK? If so, then I'm glad to see that it isn't as GW dominated in terms of gaming folks as I thought. The only gaming club (that I know of) here plays pretty much 90% GW games...

Cheers I will check out the website and see how much it is, I haven't joined any gaming clubs in Lincoln but newark is down the road and the irregulars are pretty good apparently! Where are you based?

Small world, Sir! Merely down the road. I wasn't sure the Newark Irregulars still met up regularly, their website seems a bit out of date. Be cool to get some games in that aren't GW based...

Well I've got figures and terrain just need games, I was going to try using 40k first edition but this faction wars looks good, I have a growing neo soviet force at the moment, just got a valkerie done and a few more tools for a nice sized force....  I think the irregulars meet up on a Wednesday still, never been even though I lived 5 minutes from where they were based before I moved to Lincoln!

Well I'd always be up for some games, whether at the Newark Irregulars or elsewhere. It's not a long drive either way. Sorry to have hijacked the thread, by the way. What sort of setting is your Neo-Soviet force in?

What's faction wars like? I like the look of it!

It's a nice change of pace from 40k, and it's all laid out nicely in hardcover. It has it's own factions and fluff and all, but it's all about using your own models.

Here's the review I posted back in May on it, which includes an interview at the end with the designer...
