Love the crane, James!  :-*

You must have a larger warhouse to store all those huge buildings and projects in, didn't you?

 ;)

Two questions;

1. Where do you get the time to make all of these wonderful wotsits (VSF, Samurai, Robin Hood, Wizard's Tower, Star Destroyers( ;)), etc)......?

2. Where on earth do you store it all?

Thanks again chaps

It was your VSF crane back in 2010 that inspired me  8) and it all fits in a small cupboard next to the boiler  :)

@Colin - The sheeting is quite cheap so it shouldn't be more than £30-40 to do it all but I'm still undecided yet.

1. Where do you get the time to make all of these wonderful wotsits (VSF, Samurai, Robin Hood, Wizard's Tower, Star Destroyers( ;)), etc)......?

This past week after tidying up after Salute I've been doing my own thing instead of commissions, pre-orders etc and my mojo came back with a bang  :D

It certainly has!
That must be the understatement of the week.

OMG! Speechless......    :o
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

I was on fire, then it burned out rather quickly, then work got really messed up, then I was on holiday (still am) but next week I'll be continuing this thread with plenty more Martian goodness as I've had a small brainstorm or two whilst I've been away and can't wait to get home and on with it...

Watch this space  :D

I've just bought one of these...

And I'm going to have a Martian railway, on a viaduct  :D

The idea being that the railway will have a station, on a mesa inside the city walls I'm making and will crops over the walls and continue on a viaduct over the table (and far away).

I'll be starting on the viaduct wall crossing tomorrow and will post accordingly  :)

cheers

Excellent! I'm sure there are a great many of us waiting with bated breath!

Glad you've gotten your mojo back - or whatever the Victorian equivalent is.

Pictures in a bit chaps but I was doing a bit of research into the train itself to see about the gauge etc. the kit is 1/45 which should work quite nicely but the gauge is 1067mm and at scale that equates to approximately 23mm  ???

Doesn't seem quite right and until it turns up (waiting for a re-stocking  ::) ) I won't be able to tell...

This isn't going to stop me though  :D After looking at Victorian viaducts there's no real standard width so I'm just going to make the viaduct 80-90mm wide which should give enough room for figures either side if needs be  :)

Watch this space...

About 20% shorter than a six-foot guy? So, a gauge of something like just under 5' (5'-2.4" = 4'9.6")? Seems perfect for 4'8&1/2" to me.

The math works out fine, I meant it doesn't seem right with 28mm figures (on whopping 25mm bases  lol ).

cheers
