Excellent as always, Comrade Major! Plan targets met! ;) Is that a "non-metallic metal effect" on the banner pole?

Those are great. Beautiful paint jobs. I have struggled to find a use for mine so they sit unpainted. I invisioned them as my field troops for my space opera game for my neo-soviet fleet if we want to go from ship battles to dirtside battles.

Coolski, but not sure about the standard bearer.

He looks a bit of a Games Workshop capitalist running dog to me comrade.  ;)

I still find the figures themselves uninspiring, but they are beautifully painted. I love that grey shade used for the greatcoats!

and a thinner flagpole....

lol It does look like a 70's Minifigs flag-telegraph pole.

I mean, there are thin steel rods or spears and thin drills available....
I've done this in the 90ies...

spoils the quality of the paintjob IMHO

With regards to the flagpole, it's cast onto the figure and looked a real bugger to remove without wrecking the figure! I would of replaced it, I don't know why copplestone cast it to the figure to be honest, thanks for the comments guys, does anyone know where to get soviet flags? And aircraft decals too please! ;)

The supposed flagpole is, in fact, a long cardboard tube, with the flag rolled up inside it for safekeeping.
Back from the dead, almost.

Same with me, love them, but I wish they were a bit more Neo and a touch less emphasis on the Soviet. Thats why I have a set unpainted, but eventually I'll paint up as Zaporskiye Brigade no doubt.
