Spite -- a ghost town.
« on: August 24, 2010, 06:22:41 PM »
Not far from Malice !  A Ghost town called Spite !

Sorry the layout is not set up but only had a quick free hour this morning for pics so just the basics.

Three Hovels buildings with painted broken windows

Two hovels buildings and their saloon stairs converted into the old Brothel

oh and of course a ghost town needs........

GHOSTS !

Just noticed the old stage coach is popping a wheelie !!

Had a game of cowboys vs ghosts recently with mixed results..had the ghosts reanimating
at the stage coach from time to time. working on/ looking for some better rules.

Very nicely done, I particularly like the broken windows.

The windows definitely make it.  Have mixed feelings on the tree though.  Would think a dead twisted tree would be more fitting but it does add a splash of color.

Reminds me of that old western (can't think of the name right now, think Richard Widmark was in it) where the outlaws ended up in a ghost town under attack from Indians.

Yellow Sky ?  G Peck and R Widmark ? cant remember any Indians in that though?

picked up the seed of the idea from reading Steven Kings book
The Regulators.. he makes mention of an old film or tv show of
the same name in which a gang terrorize a town covered in flour
and dust to make themselves look like ghost..? never did find it so
I think he made it up..

What more can be said. That looks amazing. What a cool idea!! It too reminded me of a western movie set in a ghost town, but I can't think of the name.

Thanks for sharing.

Yep, my thougths exactly. I remember that film, I think Mousy is right it had Gregory Peck as the good guy, former outlaw turned sheriff and Richard Widmark was his ex outlaw partner. The indians killed all the gang in the ghost town, leaving Gregory and Richard to shoot it out on main street.  ;D
I love a good western :D

cheers gents.  Bodie certainly looks a fantastic place to explore. though I probably
be tempted to take the rusty cars out of the way. would spoil the atmosphere a little for
me.
