Well, I followed my own advice and got cracking!

Here's the front of the structure structure with a tiny balcony:

And here's the back, with a start on the bits-of-paper-rolled-up-in-my-mouth-and-mixed-with-spit technique:

Just kidding, it's only clay :) They look a bit brick-like at the moment, but I hacked into them with a scribing tool to make them rounder. Doesn't seem to show on the photo!

The last big part of it will be the balcony on the top. Basically a flat wooden platform with some sort of thatched roof.

Still a fair bit to go!

This looks great - very Star Warsy to me.  :o

Very cool for a lot of applications.

Okay, almost at the end of this project, only a week to go! After all the great entries I've seen I decided to push myself a bit further and do something new for me. So I sculpted this:

I've done conversions before, but never a "full" miniature. It was fun and something I hope to do more of. It's a primitve statue (not just an excuse for my sculpting!), and will be part of a little diorama next to the entry where the pygmies give offerings of fruit, treasure, some smaller idols (hopefully) and bits and pieces they find around the place.

It will go here:

The next step will be to make the wooden doors (similar to the look of the balcony top) and then paint the bugger!

Thanks for the encouragement guys! Much appreciated!

Did some more work on two more carved idols, and finished the front door!

I "sculpted" some bananas too, for the shrine (just rolled pieces of gs). The upstairs door is almost done, so I've got the last door to finish (should only be half as hard as the other two...) and its time to get painting!

Woa... I missed that!  :o What a cool looking building. And the sculpted totemy thingies look amazing. Beautiful door. I admire your patience.
