There's a card model 1/48 Supermarine Walrus:
http://ecardmodels.com/product_info.php?products_id=1106

Or a SMER 1/48 plastic kit of the same airplane:
http://www.internethobbies.com/sme-815.html
http://www.model-making.eu/smer-0815-supermarine-walrus-mk-2-p-1-549212.html

The Walrus is technically late for some of Biggle's adventures, but being a biplane flying boat it wouldn't look out of place in an earlier pulp game.

I'm still kicking myself as the local hobby shop had one of the SMER Walruses for sale at only $15 or so and I faffed around instead of snapping it up!

Playmobil makes both seaplanes and flying boats that can be repainted and converted for use with 28mm figures.  Spray painting the flying boat silver would make it look more like an unpainted flying boat from the late 1930's or early 1940's.  The Playmobil seaplane looks more like 1950's vintage.

Perhaps a better bet for Biggles might be the Junkers F-13 Beni float plane version, if you don't mind having Biggles flying a Junkers.  It was in production in 1919, and was the first commercial airliner, with open cockpits for two pilots and a heated cabin for four pasengers.  Over 300 were made.
Sailors have more fun!

I don't know of this range. I am not that fussed with some kit anachronisms, if it didn't worry Spielberg it doesn't worry me....

Here is a link to the Playmobil single engine floatplane on the USA Playmobil site:

http://store.playmobilusa.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Product-Show?pid=7450&cgid=Meerestierexpedition

With a bit of paint and with a scratchbuilt interior scaled to 28mm, this toy could be made useful. There's probably a toy store where you could get a closer look.  A google search of Playmobil Australia comes up with some Australian toy stores that carry Playmobil.

Here's one image of the Playmobil seaplane:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PLAYMOBIL-SPECIAL-EDITION-PLAYSET-WATER-PLANE_W0QQitemZ270622497729QQcategoryZ348QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%252BDDSIC%26otn%3D10%26pmod%3D330459309200%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5931716917094551326

I think I picked up mine for $20 US.  If you search for Playmobil float plane or seaplane you'll come up with a lot of offers.  Most versions at the moment are the police version, which was in production lately.  With a coat of silver paint and an interior rebuilt for 28mm sized figures, this shape of plane could be made to look like a late 1930's seaplane.

Here is the Franklin Mint version of the Junkers F-13 Beni floatplane, first produced in 1919:

http://www.flyingmule.com/products/FM-B11E737

That particular model is perfectly scaled for use with 28mm figures, and is ready to play with right out of the box.  If you are in a hurry to put something on the game table immediately, it's worth the price. That model is partly metal and partly plastic. There's plenty of information about this plane on the web.  It's two pilot and four pasenger capacity makes it ideal for carrying a small group of characters for a scenario for .45 Adventures or Savage Worlds.  I've got one, and I love it.

That twin engine flying boat is much pulpier than the single-engine Playmobil floatplane... I could see conjuring with that to get a very respectable 20s/30s small flying boat.

One of these days I'm going to scratchbuild me one of these beauties:

The Saro Cloud - only a few dozen were built, and it's an early 30s design, but it's such a cool looking airplane that in A World More Pulpish, there'd be lots of them, and earlier! Plus, with straight sides, it'd be a realtively easy scratchbuild, I think...

For Biggles adventures set in the 30s and 40s:

Personally I prefer the all-grey finish to the camo one, but that's a personal taste thing.

Edit: How rude of me. I do apologise, Wirelizard already mentioned the Walrus, but I somehow failed to spot that.
