Wargames Factory?  I don't have any of the Artizan Vikings, a few of the foundry one.  The WF figures will be a bit smaller, but you get a horde of them for $20.  They are also one of the better sets released by WF.  I've been meaning to take some photos along with some size comparisons.

I know they are exspensive but the Foundry range is really good and you can use the NEW(not the old ones they aren't as good IMHO) Saxon line too.I got all mine years ago when they were a lot cheaper :) If you buy horde deals they really aren't too badly priced, plus you get free shipping.Wait for a 20% off sale and cheaper still.
Others are Crusader,Gripping Beast, and ...I'll think of it sometime but there is more. o_o
Got it! Renegade Anglo-Saxons in the Dark Ages line, cheapest of them all I think.

I havebought some of West Winds Nordvolk from the Dwarf Wars range. Not sure what you're going for, but I assume Artizans are more historically accurate than the likes of WW. I bought them to match with Reaper figures that tend to be on the bigger side of 28mm.

Would any pics help? I can make some.

Pics would be great, hoping to assemble around 100 for my nordic invasion army. Plan to attach some giant wolves, bears and such so it can do fantasy work also ;)

Mostly old Foundry, with a few even older Citadel for color!

I like the Gripping Beast Vikings very much, but I'm sticking to Arthurian stuff these days. The Early Saxons from GB are  :-* :-*

I would go for old Citadel vikings. They're really nice. But maybe not so easy to get.

I've got some of the Foundry ones and they tend to err to the side of fantasy Vikings anyway. I'll dig 'em out and take a photo  :)

For a cheap, but quality alternative, Gripping Beast Plastic Viking Hirdsmen.  ;)

They look really good. Been eyeing them for a while, and everytime I have been reading Bernard Cornwell's scribblings about Uthred of Bebbanburg, my fingers itch for getting some saxons and vikings....

The old citadel ones are now the old foundry ones.
I love the current foundry ones, but then I use them as fantasy vikings.
The Crusader ones are comparable to the Artizan and foundry ones.
The older Gripping Beast metal ones are a slightly different style IMO.
The newer Gripping Beast saxons are nice but biggish.
The newer Dixon ones are very good (no pumpkin heads) and work well with artizan/foundry/crusader.
Musketeer Saxons aren't bad either.

Of the plastics: I'd avoid wargames factory. Gripping beast look ok.

Rob's got it in one. GB plastics! Cheap, exquisitely scuplted, very easy to convert, fit in with most 28mm stuff and look superb once finished  ;D

I took a look at the GB figures.  Quite impressed with them.  I'll have to see if my local hobby shop can order them.
