Hmmm.... the mini-mawes look a bit too 'adult' in that colour  lol

Really nice unit.

I wanted the mini-mawes to look a bit like the mole rats you find today...bare flesh...

Here's the latest finished 'basic' squad...Pink Squad :) (no coincidence intended!):

Only another two basic squads and a close combat squad and it's on to the weirder units again :) ...sappers, logistics, field police, engineers...

Fantastic!  :-*

Great looking force with some brilliant touches - pink mole-rats and kittie on the latop.

They are really lovely and the Pig Iron heads look great on these models! 8)

I've started off on a different track...the Tunnel Fighters have gone topside and needed some heavy support...here's a WIP mech with flame-thrower:

I have more to come...another 10 :)...

I've nearly finished the WIP one now, he just needs his base painting and some decals...I'll post some pix once he's finished.

The first one is finished except for the decals:

...and I've started on the Brutish Dogs now:

Neither of them are remotely finished but I wanted to 'un-pink' them as quickly as possible...they look so much better when they are in a darker colour :) (they come moulded in white and pink plastic).

Lots more 'stuff' on my blog too (Inso's World).

No detailed stuff...just gluing and big-brush stuff still...but I have a holiday from work coming up and that will enable me to chill out and hopefully get my hobby-head back on...

Armoured Trooper Votoms.  They are 1/35 scale kits.  I have a selection including 1 Marshy Dog, 3 Brutish Dogs, 1 ST Bacchus and 6 Scope Dogs.  You can get the kits from E-bay but I got mine from Comet Miniatures in the UK.  They range in price from £8 to £10.

What do you know... I had them figured out as some kind of action toy in my head  :)

There are a huge selection of Votoms action figures too...

...but these kits were both cheaper and easier to work with (and didn't have screws on display).

I have painted the second Brutish Dog to the same standard as it's mate but can't be bothered to wash them at the moment...so I put together the first of the Scope Dogs:

This project is ticking along nicely :) .

It is nice seeing the group shots at the start of the thread, after seeing the periodic shots on the blog. I look forwards to seeing a 'whole army' shot eventually. :)

I'm lovin' it.

Take some minis, swap their heads so they look completely unique - then see a plastic kit from a completely differenty genre, get an idea, and execute it.

Truly inspired and inspiring. These kinds of projects are made of the stuff that makes the wargaming hobby so diverse and great.  :)

Cheers!  I am sort of 'spreading the word' around various forums that there is more stuff out there than just GW...and it is also perfectly simple to mix and match s long as you find the right components...be that head-swaps or different miniatures...

...I am a popular man in the GW shops...

"So...Orks then?  Do you have many?"
"I don't like Orks so I don't have any"
"Are those for someone else then?"
"No"
"Why are you buying them?"
"To make 15mm scale space Ogre pirates"
"Really?"
"Yes...and those Dark Eldar Raiders look like good ships for them"
"...?"
"And I'm thinking of using some West Wind mechs and some Heresy Hellmites too..."
"...do you need any glue?"

When I mention Grymn, I just get blank looks...

...anyway, progress of a sort:

That's one complete, and three base-coated ready for the wash stage.  Next one up will be another Scope Dog.
