make 15mm sandbags
« on: September 14, 2010, 08:13:08 PM »
Hello all.  My search fu has only found advise on how to make 25mm sandbags.  Those techniques appear as if they will be hard to replicate at 15mm.  Anyone have advise?

You just have to persevere. It is possible to reproduce passable sandbags in 15mm without having to worry too much about seams etc... These were made out of milliput for the ad-hoc gun emplacement on my Chinese fortress.

Hi maroonldr, here  are some links:

You could simply buy some depending on what you want to do:

or make them

This link shows how to make bags and rolls but the techniques can be useful for sandbags

Not sure if anyone actually does them. Mine are all converted Old Glory 15ss Boxer Rebellion imperial troops (cut off the pigtails and added some blanket rolls etc.,or a smattering of WW1 British and Russian from various manufacturers. I've even thrown in some Russo-Japanese War Japanese for good measure. (Irregular, Peter Pig etc.) See before and after pics.
