Pre-Release Warhammer Forge Chaos Ogre

Painting this up for sale on ebay, managed to get it free at gamesday as the lady behind the till was five shades of thick.

If I am perfectly honest it is a horrendous model with some of the most dire mould lines (I use that term loosely....mould bricks) that I had to resculpt entire areas!  That said I will still paint him decent enough that I would feel happy to list it as "pro-painted" GOD I HATE THAT PHRASE so bloody pretentious

The more I look at that sculpt the more i come to dislike it, it just looks like a 25 years old model... Having said that your paint job will lift it enormously, but I hope the rest of the chaos Ogres they produce are better than that!

Those Nurgle ones, for example, are far far far better....
And as for the Nurgle frog/toad.... kissable!

I don't see anything really wrong with it, but neither can I say the model puts me in high hopes for the other fantasy forge models.

Anyhow this should fetch a pretty decent price on ebay if your fast enough, and if you got it free that might turn to be a darn decent profit.

So, what's that 'Warhammer Forge' thing about...? Is it just Forge World making Warhammer models (which they did already), or what?

Its forgeworld saying that instead of only doing Imperial Armory books and a fantasy model every few years there will be a side division that works on fantasy. That being said the sculptors are the same and apparently work on whatever side they feel like working at the time, but it is good to know they will put some more attention in fantasy.

At the moment they are working on 4 books surrounding the 4 chaos gods each sending out a Champion to conquer the world, first book will be Nurgle v Marienburg, after that anyones guess.  By the looks of it they will reintroduce the ability to use Warriors of Chaos and Demons (possibly Beastmen?) in the same "legal" army once again YAY! More so since I brought the Forgeworld Great Unclean One at Gamesday   Think the only model I saw on the Warhammer Forge stand at gamesday I didn't like was the Marienburg landship....far too camp for my liking, however the model was still nice just not my cup of tea. The troop upgrades for the regular empire state troops made me sort of consider empire    but then I regained sanity and my mind happily regressed to the boils and puss of Nurgle.
