it seems that almost all miniatures can be used together, after all there are tall guys and smaller ones, and the bigger ones don't seem to be exaggeratedly bulky! the size of the riffles can be a problem, but certainly not for me!

@Argonor - for the British I used Foundry Moss A, B, C.
For the Gurkhas, I used English Uniform, Khaki Grey, + white for highlights
