Some british reinforcements
« on: April 19, 2015, 03:12:58 PM »
After something of a figure painting hiatus (been mostly vehicles lately) I managed to do some more brits for SotTR, hopefully I'll be finished by the time the new edition arrives!

Very nice work. I especially liked the crouched packed LMG gunner

Did you kit bash some of the Westwind stuff or what?
There are very few problems in the world that cannot be solved by the proper application of high explosives

Many thanks for the kind comments,  ColonelKurtz - in the picture, the assault Brens,  officer & rifleman /radio-operator are unmodified WestWind minis, the rest are  converted Warlord models - I made & cast an armoured torso, cut off the original Warlord one, used Warlord arms & a West wind head (sounds laborious but not actually too bad). The lmg gunner was done like that, the.30 cal  was from The Assault Group (it came moulded on a tripod, which was removed & a small ammo box added - made from sprue). The .30 cal  fitted well in the Warlord minis arms with no real fiddling.
Here's a pic of one of the infantry pre-paint so you can see the new seperate torso.
