Gas Masks
« on: 23 October 2010, 11:12:44 PM »
Okay, I don't want to do head swaps.  I just want to add gas masks to Ral Partha Colonial figures.  They don't have to be wearing them.  I just want them to be seen on the figures as gear.

Ideas?

Gracias,

Glenn

You sure you don't want them to wear them, sculpting gas masks inst that hard.

Else I don't know how you could do it "realisticly" masks are almost always stored in tins and canisters as far as I am aware.
You could give them re breathers on straps hanning around the neck, might be easier.

Id have to agree with YPU, historicly gasmasks tend to be in metal canisters or in other simular pouches. However, if thats not the asthetic your going for then I wouldent let it hold you back.

Reasonable point.  I don't sculpt so that was not on my list of options.  That "no skill" thing.

I lays kept mine in Company storage because other than the MOPP suit it was the item I really hated most carrying.

Any tutorials?

Gracias,

Glenn

maybe this is interesting for you:

Interesting but I would not need the back packs for my sailors.  It is on my list of ideas for these figures.

Well, you don't want to do headswaps, but maybe these woodbine WW1 gasmask heads can still serve. Maybe you could file the back of the head flat and hang them from belts etc... on your figures. They are not too big too, so shouldn't look out of place on those small ral partha models.

They're £1.10 for 5
