Rome on the Rhine
« on: November 08, 2010, 06:50:53 AM »
Hope you'll take a look at my gallery of 1st Century Rome versus the Germanic tribes on the Rhine.  The gallery can be seen at www.warin15mm.com/Pax-Romana-Gallery.html.  The figures are largely composed of Old Glory 15s but also include Essex and Corvus Belli.  Enjoy.

 :o :o :o :o That's a fantastic collection you have there!!!

I used to be a strong proponent of 6mm for ancients gaming but since painting a 15mm medieval army for Impetus (and three 15mm armies for Future War Commander ) I have really fallen in love with 15s. Your basing looks like straightforward DBA/DBM. What rules do you use?

Thanks for the generous comments about my collection.  You're right about the basing.  I tend to keep it simple; usually a product by Woodland Scenics called fine burnt grass.  I sometimes add a tall grass and some homemade rocks (made from Milliput).  As to the rules I game with, this is the part that most find difficult to believe.  I have never played a game.  My 15mm collection at this time numbers more than 23,000 figures that I have painted over the last three decades.  Most of the different periods are posted on my vanity website at www.warin15mm.com.  I hope to be adding a Napoleonics gallery this week.  My Aztecs and Conquistadors have yet to be posted, and I'll start painting my generic medieval siege on a castle this week.  Thanks again for taking the time to have a look and respond.  Always good to hear from someone else who loves the 15s.  Richard

Thanks for sharing this has always been my favorite period to collect and game with. I've collected Romans and Ancient Germans in 28 mm, 15 mm, and 10 mm. You could say it's an ongoing obsession. Thanks again and cheers
