I remember thinking that the new Grindhouse Games 'bots would make excellent pulp robots:

I also like the Hydra Miniatures Galacteers as pulp spacemen (in addition to their excellent robots):

It's not hard to imagine the Galacteers with big clear globey space helmets on, since they're all wearing pressure suits...

WSD has Hawkmen. A pricey alternative to the Denny's cup rocketship is found at Monsters in Motion http://www.monstersinmotion.com/cart/index.php by entering the search term Flash Gordon.

If you want Flash Gordon-style Hawkmen, the various Heroclix incarnations of Hawkman (and Hawkgirl) make an excellent low-cost alternative.

Dave, have a look at Superfigs too. They are stocked by Old Glory in the US but Old Glory UK will ship them in for you saving on the shipping costs. It's worth a rummage as there's tons of stuff. It's 33mm but that doesn't matter if you're buying bots.

Don't!

Gosh - I go away for work for a couple of days and suddenly there are loads of replies to my post :)

Lots of useful stuff for me to peruse when I get the chance.

@ Matakishi - thanks for all those links. Its the Blue Moon spacemen that have inspired me to look at doing this project

@ TC - good idea about getting OG UK to import stuff fron their US counterparts - I might also do that for another project I have in mind.

The Heroclix Kree make good minions. Just repaint a little.

Never underestimate the power of human stupidity.

Another source for retro spaceships - there is a plastic spaceship full of jelly beans in some shops for Christmas (Dora the Explorer ?). Iceland (Frozen Food shop) had some last month (that I don't officially know about, but being a jelly bean fan and a pulp rocket fan it'll be the interesting shaped parcel under the Christmas tree for me. Consequently cannot comment in detail or post a picture until the end of December)
