Leviathan Project Stirrings and a Poll!
« on: 23 November 2010, 11:14:41 AM »
Hi!

Ive re-started my Leviathan project with an ambitious plan that will take 18 months to complete!

Madness you say, but theres a poll on the blog itself with a big list of forces and it would be fantastic if folks could take a moment or two to cast their vote!

The project is explained a bit more clearly here:

All the best!

You'll have to explain this to me! Are they warbands from the old Chronopia range?

Hi!

I plan on creating new forces to play games in the Leviathan setting. As this setting is the basis for the Chronopia game theres quite a bit of overlap, for example the elves in both games are much the same, while the barbarians are very similar to the sons of kronos.

The forces I am planning on collecting will be using a variety of ranges of miniatures as the Chronopia ones are getting a bit difficult to source. As with many of the Songs of Blades type warbands I've seen both here and on other sites I plan on using whatever miniatures work together.

For example Ive got some of the old Grenadier barbarians, a Wizards of the Coast metal sorcerer and an assortment of skeletons and zombies to form an undead warband.

Each force will have about 6-12 miniatures in it to begin with and will be from whichever range I find suitable. One of the human factions may well have some of the knights of Kronos in them though!

All the best!

I voted then! If they are the one's I'm thinking of, the Steppe Orcs were great miniatures!

The miniatures in Leviathan could have been loads better. The actual game setting is another favorite of mine as is Chronopia and Celtos. All from the same people.

Good luck with the new project Richard.

What Ho!

The poll is continuing nicely but feel free to place more votes!

Ive also been thinking of how to represent a post apocalyptic fantasy setting both rules wise and visually.

The Leviathan setting is based around a magical catastrophe caused by the elves breaking the seal that contained the fallen allowing them to bring about a literal hell on earth. Im also looking at other causes for apocalypse ranging from ice ages to meteor impacts so any suggestions would be most welcome!

Hi!

Well I'm down to the last ten days on the poll and as things stand it looks like the dwarves are odds on to win followed by yet more dwarves in the form of the Technomancer Guilders!

Theres still time to effect the results though as several other options are running within a vote or two of the lead!

All the best!

I agree with manic_miner, sounds like a great background and set of rules, shame about the miniatures. They just don't suit the background (i.e. VERY dark and brooding).

However, they do look quite nice to paint.
