Testmodel Space Wolves Heresy style
« on: November 26, 2010, 08:26:00 AM »

Something to oppose Heresy Era Thousand Sons!
The mini is based on a Mk VI Armour, aftermarket helmet and Mk II shoulder Pads by Forge World. Arms, Bolter and backpack are from the very first GW Plastics...
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

Nice idea. Are you planning a full army of these or are these veterans of some sort?

BTW there is an older space marine set than the one you've used for the arms, bolter and back pack. I think GW call it B01. It was a box of Mark6 marines( the ones with the beak helmets). I've still got them in my space wolves army. I take it you mean the first mark7 plastics.

I am toying around with the idea of a small force, maybe with some homegrown rules...

Ah- you are referring to the VERY first plastic Marines! I still have some of them.
True I used the first separate arms and Bolter for the Mk VII kits!

I've ordered them up and I plan to have marines riding them.

Looking good, but I really do not like Wolf riding idea for Marines that was established in the last SW Codex...

I liked the idea. I just didn't like the character model riding the big squirrel. Sorry, I mean wolf ;)

Nice look but looks a little luna wolves than Russ's (chapter emblem).

I've gone for a lot of chaos helmets in the older marks (V & II & III) the Mark IV from the black templar sprues and the khornate berserker helmets.

Big bag of pre heresy Dark Angels to do personally, no idea when that project will be done though.

;)

Hmm, strange; I took it straight dfrom the SW decal sheet...
The Codex said, Logan Grinars company.

That is in fact the emblem of Logan Grimnar's GC but it's 40k not 30k. Of course this grey hunter could be from the "modern" chapter and simply have been issued some crapped-out junk/prized relic of the legion's past when he finished his induction.

Excellent fig Agis! I'm a great admirer of your work as well as a bona fide 30k/Horus Heresy nut so I'd love to see you do some more. Might inspire me to finish the force of Alpha Legionnaires I started three years ago... ;D

each wolf lord had a particular wolf symbol to denote his great company, the one agis uses is allocated to lagaan grimnar in the current codex, the main rearing wolf style is used to represent the great wolf, so it would be russ' own in 30k

That was actually the idea...
(And I just did not want to use Ragnars again  and again)

Brilliant mini! The way the bolter is held is kind of suspicious, tho.
