questions about a French invasion
« on: December 11, 2010, 12:28:56 PM »
Hi, I was writting some fluff for a french invasion of england in 1805 but I stumbled upon some things I can't find online. Here are some questions if I have more questions I will post them here.

- How long would a transport ship need to sail from boulogne to Chatham?
- How long would a transport ship need to sail from Ostend to Sheerness?
- How many trips would they could a day? and could they sail by night without to much risk?
- How much supplies would an army of approximatly 30 000 men need? (tonnes) with a 1/4 of the supplies locally fouraged?
- What's the marching speed of a large napoleonic army consisting out of cavalry, artillery and foot soldiers?

Thanks in advance!
