Somehow some tartan feels good for me and is also another good way of showing of your skill :)
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

Cheers guys,

Sorry I have been absent recently have had some problems in life that have not allowed for much painting.  But I won't bore you with that.

But i am back on the horse.

recent work done, metallics on the cannon, maggots, rusty metals on the rings and back disc, skulls on the back disc, the ropes, repainted the horn and exposed skull and have painted the tattered flag/loin cloth

Looking very nice indeed mate. Working with tissue viability and wound care issues I have to say your skin tones are freakishly natural on the necrotic tissue and open sores.

(What time are the Devon contingent arriving at Salute Saturday? (Staying at a mate's Friday-Sunday otherwise would have suggested a little charabang roadtrip).
Now water can flow....or water can crash...be water my friend.

Cheers pal, it's the direction I try to head towards in my work of late, the realism/naturalist road, i have no real interest in the cartoony crap that is so popular with GW at the moment which I think sadly will always work against me at GD.  As for arrival at Salute no idea, the train gets to paddington at 9:21am.  What time do they stop accepting entries for the painting comp any idea pal?  If you want I can let you have my number and you can get hold of myself and Col Aubrey Bagshot
