Congratulations, a well deserved win! Let's hope the "lovely" giant will do just as well on the GD   :)

thanks a lot guys

So i have got to the point on the giant that i can progress no further on him until he is on the base, partly because i have nothing to hold on to and partly because there will be thing dangling and obviously i will need to assess the gravity to get it perfect

So i have started the base

Mega, ace, fantastic and other superlatives!

You have finished it haven't you?  ;)

The smashed gun carriage is a nice touch - although no mangled corpses/survivors drowning in the giant's involuntary excretions?   ;D

Woah! =) Very lovely!

I agree with Thantsants, the smashed gun carriage is a brilliant touch. And you won't have a spare piece in your box, also!

LOL I wish this is definately a labour of love, but you watch it will win nothing :D

Was discussing this with a friend on Saturday down in Plymouth, it's a very difficult one, I want to put some mushed crewmen with maybe some brain matter dripping off the end of the cannon but it risks becoming a diorama and not a monster, and diorama category is full of some silly good creations.

I do however have the motars (as i went through 3 cannons due to melting.......but i will paint them up and pop them on ebay

and cheers you 2 :D

Ah fair point - still be fun mind!  >:D

Can't tempt you into modelling some unfortunate gunner wrestling with some of the giants larger parasites?

Mind you brain matter on the on the end of the cannon would be suitably stomach turning.   lol

there is a good chance that after golden demon season I will add the unfortunate crewman, but anyway I have a couple of nurglings to sculpt yet

Right i have added some grass, and I think it does the trick

Looking amazing so far! The grass really pulls it together well.

Should the cannonballs be so shiny? They were usually flat black, and often almost stone-like in texture, IIRC. As they are, they seem to still read as "ball bearing" rather than "cannonball".

Too well painted?
Its that new paint he's got, makes mere plastic cannon balls look like real life ball bearings.... lol....

Thanks pal, I think the grass just makes the piece come alive....but then I would say that :D

they aren't that shiney under normal light, I have used Mr Color Super Metallics which are like painting with liquid metal and when it goes under the daylight bulbs in my photobooth/tent/thingamabob it really catches the light.  Also I go too dark and I am worried that I risk them vanishing in the sea of grass, I could ink them back a little more but if that fear is realised now the grass is in place I would risk ruining the base having to repaint.  Plus it's fantasy sure i can be forgiven a few historical inaccuracies.

New paint makes metal all shiney like! New paint cost too much have to sell kidney!

Weathered the grass a little, and also sculpted a nurgling that will have been "birthed" and covered in a nasty mucus by the foot with the birthing sack, might do another playing with a cannon ball as well.  Will get some pictures up later when I have finished painting the little blighter
