Holy crap thanks guys thats a lot of love right there :)

I usually like to answer every reponse personally but to save me a good 1/2 hour I will just say thanks to everyone and just answer those with specific questions :D

WOW!!! Don't know what the guy would of done to get gold?

Was Angello Di Chello's Griffon, was a straight out the box mini, didn't really get chance to look at it but he is a brilliant painter and I am sure that it was exceptional.

Congrats Dee, great work. I'd love to see them in person some day.

If you are ever in the South West of the UK let me know and maybe we can sort something.

Next order of business: Paint the trophy.

It crossed my mind on the way home :)

Well done!! What's next on the painting table?

a very special diorama for next year and very much new ground for me having never really done a diorama, although the nurgle giant was leaning that way, sadly because I am doing it so early i am keeping it very much under wraps, it will be shown only on my personal blog for the time being until nearer GD.  Suffice to say everyone that I have run the idea past has wet themselves in excitement!

thanks again guys

Damien

Well done & congrats. I particularly like the werewolves. Did you get much feedback on them from the judges (recall you were worried about the blood & gore hiding the quality of the paintjob)?
cheers

Wow, I missed the part that you won a Golden Demon, you certainly deserve it, you are one of the most talented artists that I have ever seen. Can't wait to see Nurgle painted up.

Cheers,

Why thank you my Iberian brother.  Glad you like it all pal.

Grand praise indeed pal, i personally do not have any sense of entitlement (apart from one year of entering due to all the whisperers in my ear telling me i should win this and that) there are so many great painters that enter Golden Demon and only a handful can win, my focus is on painting what I want, how I want, if that just happens to coincide with what the GD judges want to see that year then yay, if not oh well I still enjoyed the painting and will not be disappointed.

Still waiting for bits to turn up on for the dio so made more inroads into the great unclean one mark 2. Staff is almost done, just needs a few embleshments like skulls and general filth attached, was originally going to do a sculpted nurgle symbol but it made more sense for flayed skin nailed to a shepherd's crook, adds loads of gribble AND gives me a nice flat area for some freehand :)

Damn, i missed the update as well that you won a daemon, gratz!

Your new project also looks interesting. looking forward to seeing progress on this, allthough looking at the pretty pictures easily cost painting time unles I do it at the office  ::)
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

thanks guys

I always have a lazy five mins ever couple of hours to drink a cuppa and recharge the brain :P

Just a few minor tweeks needed now around the maw and then it is ready.  There was a brief conversation had with a mate about wrappings for the staff and thought given to colours however i thought that wrappings just wouldn't look right on a shepherd's crook, sat drinking a brew and having a five min break at work and pow inspiration hit.....why not have tatty leper bandages on his hands.  Also with added tentacle-age.
