love the shark tank and the railings - have gone for something similar in my Aliens colony (the railings, not the shark tank), but went with the drilled railings - like you say, time consuming....

Slowly Spinning Fans

What is this thing? I mean, it serves no useful purpose for there to be a bunch of chompy, spinny things in the middle of a hallway. No, I mean we shouldn't have to do this, it makes no logical sense, why is it here?

A couple of PC fans I kept when dismantling a broken computer years ago...... I knew I would need them for something.
MDF base with foam PVC top and sides.  Wire mesh railings and a bit of embossed plastic card to tidy them up a little.

Built these on a whim as they are not in the design for the Salute game.  They will get used at some point anyway!

Looks like he came to a dead end.....

Ahh computer fans... No future wars game can be one without at least one kicking about!

You've made good use of them as well. They look like they'd be great for Necromunda!

Fantastic build so far Paul,

A quick question for you, do the fans turn?

Yes, although currently only if you spin them with your finger.  In theory you could wire them up, but they would spin a bit too fast.  (Yes I know I could wire in a variable resistor...)

The, Words, Mouth, out, take... rearrange ;).

What about just a standard resistor? A variable might take up too much space what with the battery, miniatures and invisible flying bullets!?! Go on, you know you want to...  lol

The Device:

Mysterious energy waves are interfering with U.S. missile launches.

Satellite toppler, Thermonuclear bomb, Doomsday device, computer core?  Could be any of them.  Failing that just something to hide behind as the bad guys shoot at you.

More distracted messing about with odds & ends.  This time based on an old processor chip with attached fan and a chunky pen top from a Mrs Overlord Christmas cracker ("You dont need than pen for anything do you?"  "Why, what are you going to build with it?"  "I have plans .....Muahahahaha!").

Minor update only as I'm back at work now.  :-I
