Martians a new take (I'd like your opinion)
« on: 01 January 2011, 08:44:53 AM »
I've been trying to settle on some figures to use as Martians in my games.

Originally I wanted only 6 limbed creatures and all kinds of them. But finding standard infantry with 6 limbs was hard and my converted zulu weren't great. So the idea was canned.

Now I'm wondering if I should go with:

Painted in suitable colours and probably odd skin.

To go along with the iron clad ones:

Should I go with it... or what do you think?

Sure, why not? The John Carter mini is fantastic as well.

I really like the silver armored ones with the bronze jet packs, who makes them. As for martians, look at the second volume of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. You will find that Parroom Station (at Brigade Games in the US) makes the giant white C.S. Lewis martians.

Looking good.  If anyone is after multi-armed creatures try the Mage Knight Omens series - still available and at affordable prices.  Specifically try Vah'kama 028, Darkfen Blade 022, 023, 024, Shyft Fiend 025, 026, Shyft Summoner 069, 070, 071

If available they're around the $2 mark from Noble Knight Games:

I like them. If you want to change up the weapon selection a bit take a look at getting one of the new Dark Eldar sets and do some hand swaps.
