lol sorry, my bad, i meant the stone walls! they look pre-printed, but they're also quite thick, that's unusual! =)

Ah, the stone walls. You're correct, the white ones are structured polystyrene sheets from a french manufacturer. I bought them at Crisis in Antwerp last year, but they have a website: www.decorsminiatures.fr . The sheets are quite thick and very hard to cut, so I need to use a fine saw in the end. But the thickness on the walls results from glueing the sheets onto foamboard to simulate a realistic wall thickness.

The grey stone structured walls are from Heki: http://www.heki-kittler.de/heki_dur_modellbauplatten.php

As I said yesterday, I've been busy through the last days. All buildings and walls finished now - just painting and some terrain details. Hardest part was to build the two wall segments, the intact and destroyed one, as identical as possible to get a good fit between the other parts of the model. I feel a bit relaxed now ...  :D

New pics after painting ...

Honestly, i preferred the mine...  ;)

Seriously though, Michael, that is a major and impressive piece of construction.can't wait to see the finished table  :)

Well done indeed. Craft skill, precision, and artistic vision. None better.

I have to say that the second picture down in your last post is my favourite because it shows what brilliant job you have done of downsizing the ground scale (if that makes sense).

It can be very difficult to get right and you have done a splendid job  :)

cheers

James

Vaubaun-style is a horror to me because of all the difficault angels of the walls. But you did a really great job here.

"Did you hear this strange noise tonight, my dear love?"

"Did it come from here?"

"Or was it from the backyard?"

"Let's have a look from above ..."

"Oh my God! Isn't it unbelievable, Morton, how some people treat other people's property? - It's barbaric, my love, isn't it?"

 ;)

So, the deed is done. It was about time now. Not really till easter, but nearly. Looking back it was much more work than expected, painting and drybrushing alone needed a lot of time in the end. But I had lots of fun and learned new things, so it was worth it, and my customer was really happy when he got his treasure yesterday. What next? No large projects for some time, on to figure painting again ... Last pics following, and some more with pirates here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=41104.0
