Such as...?

Buying WEG minis off me for one price, but then wanting a 50% premium, when you offer to sell me some.... ?

I'm not complaining about the price (no one forced me to buy them), but its hardly a "favour" is it?

 ;)

Yes mate, i'm behind a global conspiracy to deprive you of your toys....

 lol

It was nearer 60% come on Matt.... after all Shiney! Shiney!

(Point taken we should have swopped like for like on those will address, but we were caught in the shiney!).

Really you're behind it????.....I knew it!   :o Damn you!   :D

Yup, from my secret base, underneath AKULA Towers i'm stockpiling wotc AT-AT.

When the moment is right, I will release them onto the market, and destroy the price of prepainted plastics forever......

Ok from now on this thread is about my project not 'my vaders bigger than your vader'! I'm as guilty of this arms race as the next man so from now on, just the project and just the PJ's (there are plenty of other places to post up my purchases :D).

So K3PO and Death Star Droids later tonight:

The newly refreshed Commander.  ;D

No, no, no my lightsaber is bigger than yours   ;) .....I paint Wotc miniatures for now and they are taller than WEG ones. Still on it but I should post pictures soon.

Just clearing out some space on the camera then pics will be taken and uploaded, (3468 pictures! Really should download more often!  :o)

While your waiting, thought I might stick a pic up of my VW transporter, some people's are TDI powered, I look to a higher power..a more elegant vehicle...from a more civilised age. She'll make 0.8 past lightspeed.

Pictures taken at 00:10, not great lighting.  :-[
K-3PO (Kay-Threepio)

The white protocol droid K-3PO was a fixture in the Echo Base command center during the events surrounding the Battle of Hoth. The stuffy protocol droid served as a coordinator for all the droids stationed at Echo Base.
The property of Commander Narra, a veteran Alliance starfighter pilot who flew in the legendary Renegade Flight. Narra used K-3PO to record his memoirs and keep track of the numerous military engagements he was involved in over the years. After a while, K-3PO absorbed these stories and became a tactical expert.

This figure was one of the pewter castings Grenadier did for a number of boardgames, so it's detail wasn't sharp and when I bought it it looked a little flat in the face. It's painted up well though. I cut it from it's integral base and mounted it on a partially snow covered sulaco resin base from Fenris Games, as a nod to Echo base.

RA-7 Death Star Droids:

Arakyd Industries curried considerable favor with the Empire with their exceptional line of military and security droids. For this reason, they were awarded the contract to supply some of the highest ranking officers in the Imperial echelons with personal servant droids. Or, at least, that's what the Imperial Security Bureau would have everyone believe. The ISB had tasked Arakyd to develop a line of spies to keep tabs on Imperials officials.

Concealed in the droid's primary programming was a secret documentation/surveillance system. The RA-7s were programmed to make periodic and clandestine contact with their ISB masters via scrambled frequencies.

Rumors began to circulate about the RA-7's true intent, and privacy-seeking Imperial officials began to quietly and conveniently "misplace" their droids, rather than destroy or reprogram them outright and risk being branded as traitors. A huge number of these droids were stationed aboard the Empire's most elite posting, the Death Star, and thus were destroyed when the station exploded.

I've painted two of the five I've got in traditional triology colours, the silver one from the sand crawler and the balck one from the death star. Both based to accompany Imperial officers to the Hoth system.

The Emperor:

Not much to add, general bad guy.

(and not a great pic :/).

Well chosen transport that. Traded my T3 for a T4 last year. Well, what did I say? YT-1300 that is...

Build a better 4-lom.

Ok so WEG/grenadier never sculpted a 4-LOM Bounty Hunter, (always thought that was odd as they did the Bounty Hunter's boxed set) but there's enough 'bits' in the range to kitbash one together.

So this is going to be this afternoon's distraction.

I'll be using

Death star droid (body) (Should be a protcol droid I know, but not many of those and need what I have, death star droids are in plentiful supply).

Zuckuss (head with a little mode)
IG88 (Weapons (Blaster and long rifle).

(Fett's just there cause he's always trying to build his part up!).

None of the donors will be wasted though. The IG unit will become a bit of trash scenery along with the RA-7's head, (thinking Jawa tat). The Zuckuss body will have a bit of GS attention and become a Jawa elder.

why not press mold the bits you want rather than kill rare minis... you can then sell your excess IG and Zuckuss...

Take your point and thanks for the link, but I've got 4 IG's and 4 Zuckuss's ( I think might be 3) and all the parts are going to be used in the project for further custom pieces so nothing will potentially go to waste.

It was the same dilema I had with cutting up the snowtroopers for the long barrelled rifles. They came out ok.

Have you used that stuff, is it any good?

The Commander

No Dave, great minds etc, not guilty, loads of people have had projects simmering for a while now, no credit to give or take on this bud.

What do you expect from a load of Sci-fi nuts though? ;)
