Kätzchen APC in 28mm?
« on: January 30, 2011, 08:46:25 AM »
I want my late war Germans to have the very best that the Reich can provide, and in 1949 that means no Hanomags - they want APCs! We'll leave those halftracks to the technically underdeveloped armies...

Seriously though, is this vehicle made in 28mm?
I've been looking everywhere I can think of ...found it in 20mm, 1/144 and even 1/286 but not in 28mm or rough equivalent (ie 1/56)

As discussed in this thread (and still state of knowledge two years on), there are no Kätzchen kits in a suitable scale. Your best bet would probably getting one of Tamiya's Panzer 38-based tank hunters and using the running gear with a scratch-built hull.

Thanks for the update Chris, despite the bad news...  :'(

What did you end up using for transport for your Weird War Fallschirmjägers?

*Cough*

As I never finished more than two squads of powered armour, a squad of infantry and a squad of rocket troops before my immediate interest petered out, the necessity did not arise (mainly because nobody in my area was interested in 3W2). I actually finished a paper model, the first test build of which looked decent enough, but I don't have it on this computer - otherwise, I would have uploaded it.

I figured I'd ask this here rather than wasting a new thread with a similar question:

Does any company make a 1/48 (or so) British Challenger A30 Avenger? Or failing that, a Challenger that could be converted to such without too much fuss?

Well - that happens to us all doesnt it (with alarming frequency in my case!)

If you find the paper model, I'd be very keen to get the file - thanks Chris

About the only place to get anything weird, rare or 1/48 is the French company, Quarter Kit.  Most is resin with great details but can get pricey for the bigger, rarities but a great company and product to buy from.

It's a shame no one is doing paper panzers in 28mm. There'd be a market, I too am bothered by the high tech that stops at tracked vehicles.

the 3D model for this is already 80% complete.  It's just a matter of detailing and fiddling with the way it gets put together for casting.  I will post the print as soon as we complete it.

Since it's in digital form, all sorts of scale versions can be printed if there really was demand for it. Probably 1/48, 1/56 and 15mm
