I was also pondering how well these would fit in with the new perry zouves. I think as character and hero figures it might not be that big a deal if they weren't massively bigger.

Got my zouaves yesterday and they are 'small 28mm' compatible with Foundry. If these chaps are as big as previous releases (similar size to Copplestone) than they will tower over the zouaves. Best option therefore would to use these as characters as you suggest.

I like them ol' Turkish fellows, too!

Hm, somehow I like the steampunk-minis where they are closer to real looking guys more in general, dunno why. Same for the bobbies and these Turkish ones here, but I am sure, I will finde more of these style in here. ;)

question
the one on page 2 of this thread have some "faults" (?) I am curious about. The one with the portable MG has some gluing rests on the gun. Does it just look like or - if not - how do You get rid of it? Just scrape it away cautiously? I would expect, that the glue is tougher than the brown stoff, isn't it?

best wishes

I'm sure you won't find any rests of glue on your casts :)

Concerning the first fig, didn't Victorian Brits occasionally, especially relaxing at home, affect a Fez?

Not that he's wearing a smoking jacket, mind you.

Indeed, they were known as smoking caps, and did usually resemble a fez.  I think the idea was to keep the tobacco smell from one's hair, though whether they actually worked I do not know.
