US Navy Personnel for the Pacific WW2 in 28mm
« on: February 05, 2011, 10:01:25 PM »
Does anyone know of a manufacturer for these figures? I want the sort of khaki-uniformed types, shirt sleeves and sweaty, with guns if possible - the Tiger and Pulp ones are a little too 'well-dressed' for me, my idea is for a naval crew forced to land on tiny atolls and islands to winkle out Japanese forces or similar.

I think for the officers you need the khaki shirt and trousers with cap with khaki cover and for the men dungaree and chambray shirts and im not aware of any like that bar a couple of the Pulp figures scattered in various packs.

So looks like a conversion job though i suppose you could always paint some USMC early war types in those colours when they still wore the khaki summer trousers and shirts in the field. Pulps early war USMC in Kelly helmets is a good possibility for a 'paint conversion' into sailors. Just paint the trousers a denim colour with a lighter blue shirt while the webbing would be standard OD. For an officer, Chief PO type paint them khaki drill colour.

Of course if you fancy doing later war the find some Infantry with uncovered M1 helmets and HBT uniforms, ideal for beach parties Seebees etc.

Hope this helps, feel free to PM if i can help anymore.

cheers Tim
