Love to see new colour schemes - those fellows on the left stand out!

Thanks for the reply, Fram! I am glad you like the new color schemes. The Puffballs are favorites with me also. The light dots give them a blotchy effect which I find very pleasing,

I finally got started on the new Mushroom Forest photo stage. I am really excited about this project.
Using the black background stage, I added two elevations. These are aluminum  foil & Mod Podge soaked paper towels over an insulation foam base:

Covered/sculpted Das air dry clayed:

Black washed & dry brushed:

I added a low elevatio to break the background/base line:

Some moss for the rock formation:

AND the first of the BIG Mushrooms ready for DAS treatment & maybe some personality:

More soon...depending on my energy level.

Thanks, Mike. I am hoping for something spectacular.

Thanks, Frugalmax! I always look forward to the end result also.
The background will probably be simple enough as to not be distracting. I was going the use the back of the Moon matakishi gave me with my own face sculpted on it, but I haven't been able to find it...yet. I might make my own. There will be shadows * eye between the Mushroom stems for sure.

Thanks for the kind reply, Basementboy! I am happy you like it thus far. I have added a few more Mushrooms to the background...just now.
I can't imagine ever giving up on creating things while I am still here. I am delighted you draw inspiration from my bloody minded tenacity.

So as not to keep you waiting, here is how thephoto stage now looks:

I did a small rearrangement of my work space to accommodate the W.I.P. stage on the lower table for easier working & photos.
Here's the Witch's cottage ready for detailing & paint:

Plus a better view of the little cave. I'm something creepy lives inside or soon will;

Until whenever.

I made some small progress; i.e., five of the middle ground Mushrooms are ready for painting:

I have SO many ideas for the beastie, this may indeed be my last hurrah.
Until next time whenever that is.

Oh man, I love the eyeball on the cottage! So cool. Great to see how you craft these awesome pieces! Hope there are many more hurrahs to come!

Thanks, Frugalmax! I am glad you enjoyed the update. I think that the eyeball the cottage sports adds that certain witchy feel to the piece.
There is still a lot of work to the stage to be done, AND I keep coming up with ideas that only add more work to the project. There are times when an active imagination can be a negative attribute.

Until next time indeed! Looks fantastic so far. Will be sad to see the thread end if this truly is the last hurrah, this has been an absolute staple of the whole forum and a great source of inspiration- But if you feel the time is right then I'm sure you'll close it off well. All conjecture aside, the cottage and mushrooms look beautiful, hyped to see them get painted :D

Thanks for the reply, Basemantboy...g;ad you like the stuff thus far. Fear not, I will stop posting when my heart stops beating...maybe a bit after.
I'm looking forward to the painting also. There shouldn't be the long delay that I experienced with the Twisted Tower photo stage in getting the beastie painted...I hope.
I'm muddling over just how to do the background Mushrooms & how many foreground ones to do. There will definitely be some big foreground Mushroom on the sides to limit & channel the view.

I'll eagerly await the next update then! The mushrooms to channel the perspective sound like a great idea.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant that it might be the last hurrah because it would take the rest of my life to finish it. I most probably have more than enough time to get this & lots more stuff done...probably.
