Re: The Last Hurrah Project: 04/27/19 Goblins in the works: a diversion

I like the pike guys! Their expression is really in the middle of being merry and trying to frighten their foes...
And I also like the banner, depicting night with the motto "Carpe Diem", I think that you created deliberately this contradiction, besides I know that it is one of your favorite mottos!
The SteamPunk Snail is a diversion, indeed! Very interesting concept to sculpt and its smokestack seems rather than a snail-mounted observatory to me  :)
It will blend nicely with the mushrooms, for sure!

Thanks for the ongoing support, Dinos. I am happy you are enjoying the developments.
The flag is done in a similar way to my other Goblin banners; a contradiction between the low intellect that is attributed to Goblin kind & the perceived intelligence Latin expressions would imply. The night sky/mountains fit with the Night Goblin persona.
I think the Snail will go well with the Mushrooms also. What purpose, if any, he serves is as yet a mystery.

Looking forward to that snail being painted up. Lovely.

...me too. Thanks for the reply, von Lucky.
The Snail by the way is made by Raccoon Miniatures: MIZ&PIG 23.

Amazing as always Al.
Do all these characters get to hang around your house once done or are they confined to drawers and cupboards awaiting the gathering?

Thanks, Rob. I am glad you like the thingies.
Most all of the stuff winds up stored away due to lack of display area & an equal lack of Folks who will see them. Some is given away. Before Easter I gave some of the Mushrooms to the girls at the bank & a fellow at Jersey Giant Pizza. Giving the stuff away is my preference.
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

The rear rank is done:

...ergo Gander O'Peek's Pike are finished:

The pike Goblins are the nine Shanty Brothers: Rowdy, Raunchy, Rabid, Rancid, Ribald, Weedy, Seedy, Stinker, & Fast Eddy:

...with Bender O'Hooch & Wretched:

Better pics are sure to follow...maybe.

Gawd, I love 'em. The names make me cackle.

By the way, I don't know if you check the Warhammer thread, so I'm not sure if you've seen this upcoming release:

Look at the base! It was made just for you!

Thanks, Fram. I am glad you like the Little Hooligans. I usually come up with names for my characters, but over the past few years I have found I couldn't remember them. SO I am starting to make the names part of the bases, something I haven't done in years. The derogatory adjectives for first names & Irish sounding last names are something Gav Thorpe inspired & that I have expanded on...I am glad you like that as well.

That is a new miniature for me...I haven't checked the G.W, thread...I didn't know we had one either. I have been admiring some of their new Goblins. I even cracked & bought a few. The bases do look like something I would make...the infested characters are also look a likes. Mine are older & I don't sell them; SO their I.P. Gestapo can bugger off.

I am making this The Year of The Goblin. There will, hopefully, be a lot more Goblins popping up here.

lol

If it's any reassurance, they've gotten a bit better about that nonsense since they got rid of Tom Kirby.

That is good to know. G.W. could stand a better image.

AND with the Gang's Champion, Mincer McGook, now finished the Guy are ready to escort McHooch's Mushroom Brews to their eagerly awaiting customers:

AND The Gang:

Some fancier photos soon...relatively speaking.

These rascals look great! And Mincer, menacing with his axe...
So, The Year of The Goblin it will be, and whoever complains, send him to Krug!  lol

There will be other things appearing, but the Goblins & their associates (mostly Mushrooms) will be the main focus for the year.
Thanks for the reply AND the comic...Krug is a tempting character for a conversion attempt. I am glad you like the Little Rogues.

Amid Life's little distractions I got some work done on one of the Wolf Riders. This Fellow will be a Highwayman/Goblin type Loony:

The cartoon style appeals to me & does fit with the Goblin persona nicely...if Folks don't take you seriously, you can get away with murder.

As threatened, I took some more artsy photos of O'Peek's Pikes & other notable Goblins.
The Lads are posing bravely in the Spooky Woods somewhere near Heep's Mushroom Brewery & Bat Poop Caverns:

The rear rank:

Front rank:

The Heroes...so to speak:

There you have them in all their glory(?).

This mob appearing among the trees with their grinning smiles and piercing eyes!
It is a pleasure to look at!
Very well photo staged! Thank you for sharing them with us!
They made my day!
