Although there are ladders, posters, et al to add toe the first Tenement, it is for the most part completed...mostly. SO here are some awful photos to give you a vague idea where the Poor Folk reside.

Once I get it in place, you'll be subjected to yer more pics. Until then your kind commentaries would be welcome...kind of.

Needs at least one awkwardly-placed ladder (I presume this or stairs will be added after the tenement is full in place). Maybe a detail or two to make it look a little more lived in - a little junk, a line of hanging laundry, or an ugly potted plant, or something.

Other than that, hubba hubba!  :-*

Thanks, Fram...glad you like it so far!
Fear not: there'll be at least two ladders & connecting walkways to the other buildings. The Shanty Town is getting to the point where I can start adding all sorts of decorations, posters, candles, debris & horrid thingies occupying said debris...the FUN part of The Project.
I have the Tenement sitting in Town about where it will eventually be mounted; it looks so much better there than in the all alone photos, I'll try to put up a photo in Town tomorrow.

Looking good, mate!

I am sure it is going to look great when all the 'extras' are added.

Thanks, Mason. I hope the added details will make the Beasty match my visions of the place...this might be really strange.

As threatened here are a few photos of the Tenement as it appears in town, PLUS a couple of equally dreadful photos of the New Tree(s) on the waterfront sans Marlon Brando:

The Overview:

 AND The Tree(s):

As always your comments & critique would be appreciated...cherished.

Looking good in situ so far. Really giving a good overall impression of a shantytown now!

Awesome! I love the face on the tree that looks like he's trying to keep from falling over.

Does falling in that goo do extra damage?

Thanks for the kind commentary, Fair Lady & Good Sir!

Glad you like it. This one of those instances where the whole is greater than its components...so to speak. I'm looking forward to developments...one of the benefits of not a helluva a lot of planning is being surprised by my own work.

Thanks again! I have to admit that doing the faces on the Trees & Mushrooms is my favorite part of The Project. The nice reactions/comments I've received are my motivation...a bit of self esteem therapy to boot.

I would imagine any contact with the Swamp Water from HELL! would cause instantaneous mutation akin to one of the scenes from RoboCop or, at the least, an enduring reek ala the Bog of Eternal Stench from Labyrinth...the mutation might be preferable to the reek.

That is a proper fantasy "goblin-town".  Wonderful.

Thanks kindly for the kind comments, Guys!  The warm responses I've received fuel The Project...without feedback the Beasty seems rather pointless.

That is a proper fantasy "goblin-town".  Wonderful.

I was hoping to give the place the feel of a Goblin's creative approach to architecture. I'm delighted you thinks I've nailed it.

This is great, so full of charm. I love these projects where your personal touch can be seen everywhere. :) :-*

I'm drawing on all the elements of Fantasy/Horror/etc & gaming that I've come to love. The conglomeration is my personal take on it all. That accounts for the strange & spooky & just plain silly; I'm not sure where the charm comes from, but it has been mention a few times...it's a comment I cherish.

As the title says, I've made some small progress the Hole-In-The-Wall Tavern & Tenement has been mounted with a walkway joining it to the rest of Shanty Town AND some ladders for easy access (if you're agile or daring), more Mushroom Guys, & the first poster....sounds more impressive when listed than viewed.

Here's the view along the water front with the new Tree & Mushrooms in the foreground. Mother Jo's new stove pipe is also in view:

Up close:

with the Poster (For A Good Time Fast Flo's):

A Vulture's view showing of the new walkway & some ladders for the sharp eye observer:

I'm thinking of adding this tree to the Shanty Town...the upcoming Graveyard is another possible location:

SO that's where The Project stands as of now. Comments & Critiques are, as always, most welcome...mostly.

I love how it all comes together with the walkways and ladders. It makes a nice visual maze.

I like the proportion of the tree there. I wonder what else might grow up behind the shanties too?
