Boyes Scarborough store ONLY for the Vallejo deals and only for the duration of the weekend of the show
These look quite good-e.g a pack of 72 bottles in a case with 3 brushes for £100 ( normal price £159.99 )
Only 2 weeks to go  so start planning your trip now.

That's a hell of a deal...

Only 3 days to go before this show.
As the first show I have ever been directly involved in organising its a nerve racking time.
Will anyone turn up or will we have a room full of unhappy traders and gamers shouting at each other across the cavernous wasteland of the Spa?
Will we be inundated by hordes of rapacious wargamers desperate for a quick fix of gaming eye candy,a bargain or two and a go at storming the walls of the Alamo?
For those of you who make the trip-I,ll be the one slumped over the bar either because I cant move in the halls due to the vast numbers of visitors or because I,ll be drowing my sorrows with the other show organisers and the three visitors who do make it.
If you can make it I look forward to seeing multiples of you.
If I look like Im falling off my stool just prop me up as you pass by
Tally ho!

Interested to hear more about your Alamo game?  What scale are you doing it in and which figures are you using ;)

As I can't get to the show can i request lots of photos of it please? :D

Off topic, but Mal - you do realise that Glynis has a complete Hudson & Allen Alamo in 25/28mm don't you?
No Alamo figures.
We've used it for colonial (Indian Mutiny, or Chinese), VSF, old west gunfights. Even LoTR.
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

The figures are a mixture of 15mm Naismith Spanish and Freikorps Mexicans/Texan range
Its at 1:1 scale apparently.

And the diminutive Alamo looks jolly interesting.
Saw it being set up today whilst waiting for wallpaper to dry (you need to get to Scarborough to understand that one).

Corunna looks stunning, slightly surreal seeing the sea behind the ships, even more surreal as the pirate ship Hispaniola went past (again, you may need to get to Scarborough to understand that one).

Now, back to painting scenery.

Hope to see you all at the show, we'll be by the tiny, scruffy looking game between Corunna and the Alamo.

Day one was very quiet in terms of public through the door, but interesting to see some of them getting drawn into the hobby.
An incredible tombola - absolutely loads of prizes, boxed sets of Victrix, Vallejo, Blue Moon, etc, lots of prizes still to be won tommorow.

Some very big games.
Some medium ones.
Lots of traders for a first time show. Plus sun, sea, & icecreams.

Thank you to all who turned up, hope to see a few more tomorrow.
Again, we'll be on the scruffy, wet-paint table between Corunna and the Alamo.

Must remember to take some dice tomorrow....

I went there today, and was quite taken. A nice, airy venue, quite impressive Napoleonic display games (keeping with the show's theme); also, a decent selection of traders - went home with some Four A goblins, very nice laser-cut dungeon floorplans, some ancient Harlequin goblins to beef out the Four A stuff, a birthday present for my brother, and some loose figures of various makes (mainly Foundry, although I think one is Artizan).

I've uploaded the photos I took to an album over on Photobucket. Another gallery contains pics from the tour I took up to Scarborough Castle after the show. The only downside was that the "promised" Lancaster flypast was apparently cancelled, or delayed to such an extent that if occured after I had to head back down to the muddy banks of the Humber. :( A pity, I would have loved to see that one.

Chris - did you see the lady in the downstairs hall with the embroidery lamps?
(Designed for needlework, so daylight bulbs that don't get hot, with magnifiers built in if required)

Yes, I did - quite some fascinating stuff, and I might have bought one were I not to move back home in autumn, so everything that would add unduly to my load of clutter has to go on the back-burner right now. Luckily, my eyesight is, at the moment, stable (and with glasses good) enough to paint minis without such apparati's help, but I'll definitely look into getting one if I notice the need.

Had a good weekend at the show.Got to meet Chris again and kept him chatting for awhile too  :D.Nice pictures by the way chris.

Also got to chat with loads more people and traders. The display games which were put on were amazing.Loads of miniatures.

The venue was well laid-out with plenty of space between tables.A nice selection of traders with plenty of diversity too.

I hope to have a table at the next one and hope the show gets more support as it is a good weekend for gamers and their family's too.
