« on: 22 June 2014, 11:57:52 AM »
If any LAFers are attending , pop by and say hello.

I will have my Old West town Serenity out for the weekend , running some participation games.

Looking forward to watching the Vulcan fly by too.

I'll be there with our school display game "Saving the President's Lunch, Washington 1814".
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

Were you next to us last year with the Jane Austin zombie game?

It's on the sea front at the Spa Complex, South Bay. There will be about 30 traders and   34 games. Entry is £4 for the weekend with £1 of that going to Help for Heroes and the website is www.wartornuk.com  :)

That was us.
2013/1813 = Pride & Prejudice (with zombies, plus Sense & Sensibility and a host of other literary connections)
2012/1812 = Battle of Queenston Heights (although we renamed it as Lake Wobegone, and to give the US players a chance we let them defend whilst the Canadians attacked)

So this year, we have opted for 2014/1814 Burn the Whitehouse!
Next year is already being discussed. It will probably not be 1815, but we might go for 1415 (if the Perry brothers get a move on)

If you know Scarborough at all it's easy - on foot, walk from the train station down the main street as far as the weird looking statue outside Poundland/WHSmiths. Take the right turn past Iceland and the town library, walk down the hill towards the sea, the Spa is on your right before you get wet.
By car it's a nightmare for parking, the easiest is probably to go across the big bridge (Valley Bridge) to the south cliff Esplanade, park there (overlooking the sea), and go down to the Spa using the cliff tram, or park in the Seamer Road park & ride and get the bus to the seafront - but tell the driver you want the Spa not the harbour.

I get it now, thanks, the one place I always missed outngoing to because it was 'the opposite end of where I needed to be'  lol

Quite a few traders set up or in process of setting up.
Some already doing business.

Tide is quite high and waves splashing onto road - almost worth going to the show just to see the water on the windows (if you've not seen the sea recently).....
