Looking for napoleonic minis
« on: 10 February 2011, 07:51:17 PM »
Im looking for standing Cuirassiers or Dragons, I think would look great as Mings imperial guard, but i just found mounted miniatures, not standing. Do you know some fabricant who make it?

I don't know of any company that makes dismounted cuirassier(other than the odd vignette figure) there are some dismounted dragoons but not from any of the figure ranges I use.
However Perry do plastic dragoons and there are some dismounted in the box.I think you could also use the cuirassier torsos from the heavy cavalry box with the dragoon legs to make dismounted cuirassier.Exspensive as I believe you only get 6 sets of legs per box though.

To expand on fitterpete's point about the Perry's, they do dismounted Dragoons. And instead of buying a box set for just those figures you can get them directly from the Perry's, a bargain at two for a pound.

Foundry has dism French cav for the Franco- Prussian war. I guess Ming don't mind if his guards are a bit "off-period"  ;)

Another possibility would be to go with Dragoons from the War of the Spanish Succession. Several still wore Lobster Pot Helms and Cuirass, and actually did dismount from time to time. At one time, you could get them from Old Glory. The Perrys are also an excellent suggestion. I really like the look of the Warlord Games plastic Pistoleers for their Pike and Shot range, too, but I'm not sure how many of them are dismounted.

Just a suggestion,

Doc
