No problem. Do you prefer Elektromatrose Grimm, Tauchführer Grimm or Herr Linienschiffsleutnant Grimm?

These verdammt Habsburg Imperial and Royal ranks are confusing. I've only just got used to Matrose, Leutnant-zur-See and Kapitänleutnant!

If you're really well-behaved, you may even make Korvettenkapitän Grimm.

Though, knowing how Grimm is a fellow who is proud to work with his hands, I don't really see him wanting to be some stuck-up officer!  :)

Hi Poly, nice work by the way and the 4.7 gun - what brand is that?

Oh I'm really thinking that "Herr Linienschiffsleutnant Grimm" is appealing :) It probably means a new uniform and I'm sure Grimm would'nt mind being appointed into the officer class 8) However, before he can earn his appointment he needs to be appointed a "Zogling" (cadet), and undergo some sort of officer training, they just don't promote anyone in the Royal Austro-Hungarian Navy! :)

Great work once again.

Best Wishes.
Best wishes,
Helen

The gun is from the steamer I dubbed the Elke, that has starred in one previous battle report (and in "Mighty Joe Kong" as the SS Denture). It was made by Richard Houston (he sells them via TVAG), so I presume he used one of his own range of guns.

These guns are available from the London War Room:

I reckon it is WC105 (though I can't be certain, as I didn't buy it separately), which answers my earlier question and makes it a 37mm rather than a 47mm, but that doesn't matter much, still looks pretty neat on the sub.

Done a bit more to her this morning. I think she's finished, but I'm still considering painting an eye on the bow.

Did you consider painting the boxing fish that appeared in the submarine in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis? I always loved that image!  :)

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that one. Was it a computer game?

Other than the eye on the bows of some of the UB class boats, I've never seen any pictures of Great War U-Boats with fancy conning tower artwork like you see on the ones from WWII.

Very cool, Poly. I think what I like best is that you've got it so it can be used a whole bunch of different ways. I have sub envy.
