Clockwork infantry prototype usin Sontaran/Cybermen
« on: February 11, 2011, 10:57:04 AM »
This is the only thing I can make with the Sontaran/Cybermen from the DRWho magazine. With some more work and in another colour I think that they are a good solution. This time I bought 16 sontaran and 16 cybermen so I can do a 15 clockwork infantry. Loctite seem to work well on this rubber.

They are very fast to do, some cuts and glueing.

Regards.

Thank you!!

The handler has the key. It would work by putting it in the little peg in the steam engine.  ;)

Wow! It really is possible to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!
Back from the dead, almost.

Got to agree with that statement.
Lovely work and I love the colours of the bases.

Can such fulsome praise be understatement? Given how much like c**p the descriptions and piccies I've been seeing previously suggest, maybe. ;->=

Impressive.

the robots, i like. the tank tops, not so much. they are painted with skill but are not very inspired. your previous minis has made me to expect quite a lot from you:)

Thank you for your comments!!

I would like to see more ideas and conversions by more people with these weird miniatures...

Sorry about that, I have to find a miniature on the table to end your disappointment   ;) ;) :D

They look great to me - both the conversion and the painting! I love the shading on the black chest armour  8)

Amazing that such poor toys can be turned into gorgeous gaming models. Must see if there are any at the local Asda today and give it a try  :D

Incredible!  I had to go back & look at the original sontarans & cybermen to believe they were the same figures.

For those that haven't seen the originals, here's a picture:
http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=25474.msg317936#msg317936

So you cut up the cyberman body to make it more posable & then used the dome helmet of the sontaran for the head?  Beatiful work.
Remember, remember, the Dalek December
With Paris in ruins and London in ember
In times of the future when fears are abating
Don’t try to forget them, the Daleks are waiting
Quietly planning and scheming and hating…
