BTW if Army Painter gets to pricey, Minwax Polyshades "Tudor Satin" varnish is a cheaper alternative (about 1/3 the price). I use it to dip many of my figures.

Thanks for the tip. I'm ok with the cost on the Army Painter dips, and in addition to my usual inking, have found my perfect blend. I'm doing the splash on method with added thinner to pull the heavier globs off of the figure and exercise more control over the overall finish.
