Modern: Humvee scale questions
« on: February 25, 2011, 01:40:59 AM »
Does anybody know how Fenris' Humvee scales up with the Imprint Models Humvees?
I know That Imprint scales well with 21st models.
Let me know
Thanks
(anybody have any of these humvees that want to part with?)

I haven't got the Imprint humvee (although I do have some of their kits, and they are very crisp castings)

The following thread has measurements for the Fenris, TAG, and Force of Arms ones, plus some photos - The Imprint site has the measurements for theirs.

http://frothersunite.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=323089&highlight=humvee#323089

Imprint Models (taken from their site)
length 95mm;
width 45mm.
Model height 40mm (without weapon);

Fenris (measured by me)
Length 90mm
Width 41mm
Height 35mm

TAG Turtleback (measured by me)
Length 83mm
Width 41mm
Height 33mm

Force of Arms (courtesy of Col Stone)
Length 81mm
Width 37mm
Height 31mm (roof) 33mm (hatch)

I should add, the Fenris, and TAG ones are a good fit, IMHO - the only difference is the length of the wheelbase, and given the different varieties of humvee (and the fact that the Fenris one I measured was the pickup version) I think they are spot on.

The Imprint ones are nice - i've got their Bradley & T-90 for my Battlefield project, but already have plenty of TAG/Fenris Humvees, and so will stick with them, for that particular model.

The FOA ones, are, again, nice models, but just that bit smaller than the others - good models, in themselves, but I wouldn't mix them with the larger Imprint ones.

Hope this helps.

 :)

Thanks, big time.
I Think I am going to stick with the Imprint ones then.
21st Toys Humvee match Imprint exactly (minus the small wheels, which will get replaced)

Akula: I Love the hell out of your Battlefield project, make sure we get lots of photos of the event and progress. Waiting for the rules also.
