Thanks again Frank. Truly inspiring pictures!

@Fergal, If you want some additional pictures to aid you I have these two collections of Griffing prints I frequently turn to: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=art+of+robert+griffing They are good sources for beadwork and clothes in addition to warpaint.

well, the uniform looks a bit like Robin Hood and the use (afaikT wrong) bayonets, but otherwise?

Saint Francis itself was largely undefended at the time the rangers struck IIRC. They still bungled their surprise attack and the action was far less heroic than portrayed since it was basically burning out/killing defenceless women and children. Stephen Brumwell's "White Devil" is a pretty good read if you are interested in the events behind the movie.

I guess it is all down to how you view history, though. Last of the Mohicans could be considered close enough since it has French, Brits, and Indians, I guess.  ;)

Sorry for the digression Frank!

@fergal: Your wish is my command! I will make some close ups within the next days…

@Aldramelech: The Conquest miniatures are true 28 mm (form base to eyes) and as big as the Perry miniatures. I don’t know the Black Scorpions, but I would guess they are taller.

Cheers mate.

Fabulous stuff!  :-*  Tremendous painting, but for me the imagination that goes into the setting and scenarios is the genius - well done!  Any chance of of some insight into your terrain making?  It looks to die for!

Well I've lead an evil life, so they say, but I'll outrun the Devil on judgement day.
