The start of my western figure collection!
« on: 04 March 2011, 02:10:47 PM »
Hi there! New to the forum. Started collecting the amazing Black Scorpion Tombstone range miniatures after picking up the Legends Of The Old West rulebook. Been painting with a tabletop standard in mind. Here is my first finished figure:

Great work!  I like it.  I'm looking forward to viewing the entire posse.

Thanks guys. I think I may need to bin my can of Dullcote though, it's shiny even though it isn't meant to be  >:(

I have a few more to paint, and perhaps some terrain soon if people are interested in seeing it.

Well I &, I can fairly safely say, most of my Fellow L.A.Fers would be interested in anything you come up with for your Western project...we seem to be interested in everything.
Are you going for an American Western thing or The Man from Snowy River/Quigley Down Under?

I was thinking of doing an American western thing, and also a pre-federation Australian gold rush set of figures, so gold miners, Chinese workers, crazy people caught up in gold rush fever and people looking to strike rich. More info on the gold rush here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victorian_gold_rush

Try warming the can.  Whenever I periodically use a can of spray paint instead of my airbrush, I run it under a hot tap for a few seconds, shake it, run more hot water and repeat until the can starts to feel warm even after you shake it.  Just don't try to warm it all in one go! They are pressurized, after all, and heating it too much could be a mite disconcerting, shall we say.

Thanks for the advice I'll definitely give it a go.

Hi there, lone_gunmen. Some Australian Colonial gaming is a great idea! Where do you do most of your gaming?

I haven't played any games of old west or any historical stuff since I moved from the country last year. Got any suggestions for clubs or places in Sydney that are into Legends Of The Old West?
