Sand Pebbles Gun Crew
« on: 05 March 2011, 09:49:01 PM »
Looking for 28mm US interwar (or WWI) gun crews, preferably Navy, for manning my Sand Pebbles guns and field guns for my Tiger Miniatures landed parties. Any suggestions?

Pulp figures will do the job but they are a bit smaller than their Tiger cousins

Was hoping to find some 28mm gun crews in the Cannon Fodder / Blaze Away Miniatures and Models line, since that company produced some specific rules for Sand Pebbles.  However, all they have for the US is a Navy shore party and some marines.  Here's the shore party:

They do make a few Chinese, including what looks like a gun crew. I thought Cannon Fodder made another pack of unarmed sailors, but I can't find it.

Traveller is right about Pulp Figures.  This is the unarmed pack:

I don't know if Blazeaway still produce it but in addition to the landing party Cannonfodder did make a couple of crew figures including a McQueen clone with a rag or handkerchief in his back pocket. Whether that was an allusion to shore leave in San Francisco I don't know but it did make a useful gun crew figure.

Eureka Miniatures have some Colonial gun crew but they are barefoot.

Thanks all for the suggestions. The pulp unarmed are probably closest to what I am looking for in terms of period (1930s), but like all gamers I was looking for perfect. Btw Blaze Away do still sell Sand Pebbles figures' I have several and they are very nice - certainly smaller than the Tiger figures, but they look ok together as long as they are not on the same base.
