Tried my first game of Flying Lead by Ganesha Games yesterday. A small action skirmish where a small group of GI's attempt to wrest control of a Farm Complex from Panzer Grenadiers.
Sadly for the Americans breakfast was over and the Germans were alert and ready to prove the effectiveness of cover over fire and movement.
An overhead shot of the battlefield at the start of play

and from the NW edge looking over the Farm

The Farm - commandeered by Panzer Grenadiers (the Tiger is for show only and plays no part in the battle). The Allies must drive the small garrison out by the end of the day.

Sergeant O'Brien and his section start by sneaking through the woods at the NE corner

while Corporal Stanley and his fireteam come up through the SE woods - they need to open up on the famhouses and gain the German's attention while O'Brien comes in from the north.

Stanley and his team draw fire and PFC Waters is shot down whule sprinting to the cover of the wall

thinking Stanley has the undivided attention of the Germans O'Brien comes out of the woods but a vigilent Grenadier in the upper room of the farmhouse spots the emerging troops and fires with deadly effect. Private Winters is out of the fight.

Later on in the game things don't look too good for the Americans - Stanley and Waters are down in the SE and the remaining GI retreats back through the woods.

and the O'Brien and another GI succumb to the deadly fire from the windows of the buildings leaving 1 lone stunned trooper crawling backwards across the rough pasture next to the farm.

The Americans are routed.
...next time some Heavy Support may be available- a BAR or even a HMG seems essential to keep the enemy pinned down.
All in all a good game that played fast and well. Germans 5 Americans 2 was the final score and not even a whiff of extra time.
An offence/defence scenario is quite easy to work solo and the activation mechanism kept things unpredictable.

TMRules by Ganesha Games - I like.
