Added highlights today. Spent more time than I probably should have painting instead of working, but I wanted to finish them quickly. Now to do the bases. My assistant likes adding dirt to the bases once I put glue on them, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to finish them completely.

WOW!  :o

Preeeeeety old figures that bring so many memories, and then, you made such a WONDERFUL painting job with them.

I'll be waiting the finished bases, and I'm sure that will only enhance the effect.

Thanks for sharing.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Great PJs. Really brings out those old school minis. I have most of the old boxed sets (minus boxes in most cases unfortunately) but haven't painted any  ::)

Hi antimatter, these guys are going to look amazing, can`t wait till you finish them. Such old school goodness, takes me back to the early 80's.

If anyone is looking for a modern version of the guys carrying the chest Reaper has some, I think they look really good.

BEAUTIFULLY DONE! From my perspective it's good to see someone care for the Old Thingies...gives me hope for the future.

My assistant and I finished some bases but not all of them, so the photos will come later. We did give them a try with a quick dungeon crawl, trying out a very simplified version of the rules I'm working on for the new ShadowSea supplement, Descent into Stygia. The rules are very simple, like in you roll a six and you kill the enemy, but she thinks it's great. The guy with the potion was drinking gatorade though, according to Kylie, and then swiched to something that burned the dragon's eyes, which we decided was booze. The treasure handlers came in handy to pick up the gold and escape.

All in all, the old figs were as good as anything new I have sitting around, and have tons of character. They're meant for ebay, but that's a tougher decision after gaming with them.

Wonderful.  Its great to see the new generation of painting skills being applied to old pieces with such great results.

This is inspiring me to hit the green stuff again.

I'm another person that loves to see old figures in sharp new paint.  You done some fine work on these.

Also, I think your zenithal priming technique is interesting, too.  I've been experimenting with different priming techniques after years of plain black, and I will probably try this out, too.
