WW2 Micro armour 1/285
« on: 12 March 2011, 07:14:42 PM »
GHQ is still around but I don't see much mentioned about this scale.
I have a lot of German and American, but I never can find a game.

I guess FOW has taken over now. I really like that scale but I don't have any.
Anybody still play 1/285?

No amount of planning will ever replace dumb luck.

Just replacing my Russian WW2 with GHQ. Also painting Ros & Heroics for Italians. Playing Blitzkrieg Commander and loving it!

Yep love the scale but there's a rarity to finding other players. You'll find a lot of 6mm-ers over at http://angelbarracks.forumup.com/index.php?mforum=angelbarracks

I took a look at this. The only rules I have used were Angriff.
I also have Tractics and Jagdpanzer but I am not sure I played them.
How does BC work?

For BC its best to ask at http://www.blitzkrieg-commander.com/Content/Forum/default.aspx  well that's what I do. It's a neat system which I enjoy is the most developed I am in discussing them though.  ::)

I have a large 1/285 GHQ Soviet army and smaller German army. I am the only person in my club that own 1/285. We have just all move over to 28mm WW2 and I am loving it (Disposable Heroes). Better scale for my aging eyes  :(

It seems I have found a group that gets together playing all kinds of historical miniatures from ancients to WW2.
I contacted the group leader and to my suprise they play micro armour occasionally using "Command decision" rules.
Has anybody here used these rules? I would like to get them if they are worth it.

I have not played much, ok once, with CD but the current version CD (the fourth)  aka CD:Test of Battle is a winner in my mind.  So much I bought a copy.  It is not simple but is is a much more streamlined version compared to the rest, and has more uncertainty (fog of war cards - sort of random events), which is only a good thing for ww2 battles.

The other versions are ok too, but TOB in my mind has hit a CD sweet spot.
