Self Propelling Artillery Finished Photo Shot
« on: March 24, 2011, 03:03:48 AM »
Did up some self propelling Artillery "units" for the Venus Campaign. Thought to take a slightly different approach, pressing local "resources" into service, with the knowledge that mind controlling devices would be employed.
So, I first had to scratch build 2 Gatling guns and 2 light artillery pieces to mount on my "self propelling units".

I successfully raided the styrene and bits box for items to assemble the assorted guns with. The mind control units are from space Marine jet packs. Not happy yet with the over all color scheme of the bugs and am open to suggestions.  Otherwise, not to bad for mind controlled, self propelled artillery "units".

It's completely fitting that Froggy is the first to express admiration for these.    :)  And let me hasten to add that I second his comments.

Now that's moobile artillery.

Wouldn't Moobile artillery be mounted on something more cow-like?

Yes, that was a flea-ble pun. Sorry.

Gatling-armed fleas with mechanical mind control devices bolted to them... terrifying strange is the VSFer's mind! Very cool!

Excellent work. A new concept on battle automatons!

They fit in nicely with Froggy's take on Venusian cavalry too   :)

Major Gethry turned to his organic battery and said "You go here and shoot that and do not eat Grubs on the way."

Then turning to his second he said "Organic artillery that doesn't stop to forage for the occasional insect is so hard to find these days."

Well done!

The Giants fleas are :   Mustafarian Flea Rider         http://www.trollandtoad.com/p145490.html     I removed the rider and his legs, did a bit of carving around the saddle and scratch built the entire heavy weapons from bits and styrene.
